What to expect
Thanks for your interest in being our guest! You may have some questions about what worship is like at Asbury UMC. We hope you’ll find the answer to some of your questions here:
What do people wear?
You’ll see a pretty wide variety here. On Sunday mornings, there are folks in suits, dresses, jeans, and nearly everything in between. Feel free to come as you are.
Where should I park?
Convenient parking is available in a few locations. Street parking is available along Harrison Avenue, which is a north bound, one way street. Most prefer the lot parking that is available behind the church on Chicago Avenue. If that lot is full, another lot is available across the street from the church on the corner of Merchant Street and Harrison Avenue. Accessible parking spaces are available at the front of the Chicago Avenue parking lot.
Where do I enter?
The best place to enter is through the main doors facing the Chicago Avenue parking lot. To find these doors, head toward the church from the parking lot and continue straight through the courtyard to the doors marked "Asbury United Methodist Church."
As you enter, one of our Greeters will open the door for you and be available with any questions you may have. To get to the sanctuary, turn right and take the elevator to the second floor. When you get off the elevator, turn right, and stop first in Holy Grounds for some coffee and morning snacks. When you are finished, continue through that room to the end of the hall where you will find the sanctuary.
What can I expect during worship?
As you enter the sanctuary, a Greeter will be there to hand you a bulletin that has useful information and an outline of our service. In each service, we’ll share some announcements, greet one another, sing, pray together for the joys and concerns of the congregation and community, offer our gifts, experience scripture through a sermon, and be sent out with song and a blessing.
Join us Sunday at 8:00 Am or 10:30 AM
